Importance of rakshabandhan.
Rakshabandhan a festival of love or we can say a perfect occasion or chance to show your Sister/brother That how much they are important to you and how much you love them. though siblings/cousins fight whole year for remote, money, and all other silly thinks but they love each other from heart of soul. brother/sister care for each other. On this day Sister tie up rakhi to there brother and brother also give them gift and promises them that they will never leave them alone and will help them in every and each part of there life.

History of raksha bandhan
Raksha bandhan is celebrated from the time of mahabharat. when sishupal completed his 100 mistake and then god shri krushna killed him using his Chakra (weapon used by krishna). While killing sishupal, lord krishan also get injured in his figure. so people around him wondering for some bandage to me tie on that injury to stop bleeding . in that time dropati come front and without thinking any thing she tore his sarre (outfit) and tied it to his injury. at that time krishna promised her that 'sister, you helped me in my bad time. now i promise you that i will too help you in your bad time.' later krishna fulfilled his promise by saving dropati when kaurvo doing his vastraharan (harasment). from that time rakshabandhan is celebrated.
